NMIT Green Skills Excellence Centre
An effective learning environment is one which provides easy interaction between academic staff and students, and addresses students’ needs for both individual and collaborative learning, as well as providing ancillary services to satisfy their needs, preferences and work patterns.
This $10M five star rated building embodies many of the environmentally sustainable principles that will be taught within it, including solar power and water heating, geothermal exchange heating, black and grey water treatment and rainwater harvesting.
The project incorporates multiple wet laboratories, a PC2 laboratory and large open teaching workshops.
The project was successfully delivered to an extremely tight program.
