Meinhardt Wins Major Commercial Tower Project in Fiji
Meinhardt Australia has been appointed Structural and Civil engineers for FHL Properties Limited’s iconic mixed-use office tower in Fiji’s capital Suva.
The 15-level building, won in design competition by local architects Sharma Design Group, includes ground floor retail, café/restaurant, with Grade A office accommodation above designed to meet a 5-star Green rating.
The developers are targeting high-end corporate institutions and Embassies as possible tenants of the completed project.
The building is to be designed to conform to National Building Code of Fiji, in particular for cyclones, earthquakes, flooding and other disaster producing effects.
The façade incorporates precast concrete sunscreens and aluminum curtain walls. The sunscreen form is symbolic of Fijian basket weave.
Rennie Darmanin, Discipline Leader – Structures at Meinhardt Australia said: “This is an incredibly exciting win for the team and builds on our growing portfolio in the Pacific Islands region.”
The Project Manager for the 14,500sqm+ development is HLKJacob.
