About the Role
Meinhardt is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Draftsperson to join our Civil team. This role will focus on providing drafting and documentation support to the Civil team. Meinhardt Civil work in a number of specialist civil engineering areas including:
-Greenfields land development
-Urban renewal/infill
-Infrastructure master planning
-Sports and recreation and golf course engineering
-Roads projects
-Aviation projects

Key Responsibilities
-Liaise with engineers, project teams, authorities, and clients (where applicable) and assist in maintaining client relationships.
-Provide technical and internal client service excellence whilst ensuring client objectives and deadlines are met.
-Take courses of action necessary to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned tasks and make responsible decisions on technical matters assigned while ensuring project deliverables and expectations are met and that the Project Leader is kept informed of the progress.
-Monitor performance of projects against agreed fees/budgets as requested and provide accurate and timely data for project reporting.
-Preparation of reports using agreed templates for review prior to issue to client.
-Undertakes drafting tasks under minimum supervision as required and sketches and engineering mark-ups are completed in accordance with the national drafting standards, procedures, and supervisors’ instructions with any drawing errors reported.
-Assisting senior drafting staff and with various projects and carrying out miscellaneous tasks within project related works.
-Troubleshooting at an intermediate level on drafting work.
-Undertake customised National Training Schedule (twice a year) which will be advised by National BIM/CAD Manager and coordinated with Drafting Team Leader.
-Manage drafting components of projects from inception through to completion, including consulting, recommending, and advising on drafting areas and checking design work for drafting technical accuracy and adequacy.
-Ensuring consistency of the drafting approach and assist where requested.
-At a project level, provide coordination, support and partial review to team members in the completion of work, including providing appropriate feedback.
-Provide adequate and appropriate training and support for junior staff.

Skills & Experience
-At least five years drafting experience in a variety of civil projects from roads, land development, airports, sport and recreation;
-Proven industry drafting experience, including some ability to identify project risks, problem-solve and deliver solutions.
-Proven leadership skills and ambition to lead a small drafting team
-Ability to interact with other disciplines and coordinate drafting deliverables.
-Ability to read, analyse and interpret documents, and write effective documentation.
-Knowledge and understanding of documentation related to building and construction.
-High level competency with computer-aided design equipment and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3d).
-Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal communication).
-Intermediate computer literacy skills with software applications including Microsoft Office.
-Ability to delegate, monitor efficiency, and quality control.
-Work unsupervised to manage own time and priorities and contribute to management of team to meet project objectives in a deadline driven work environment.
-Excellent team communication skills (written and verbal communication) and high level interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills and ability to develop innovative and creative solutions in a complex multiple project management environment.
-Experiencing in developing and monitoring procedures.
